The striker took his tally at youth level for 2026-27 to 13 goals with a hat-trick for the Reds’ U19s against Fenerbahce on Wednesday.
A signing from Salford City in the summer of 2025, Wright is firmly focused on adding to that number further in the weeks and months ahead.
“People tend to call me a retro No.9 who likes to bustle himself about. Those are my strengths,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“From experience I know the contact, I know the right positions to be in. I just need to keep being clinical.
“I’m super-happy with the way the season is going and hopefully I can carry on this way.”
Wright is captaining the U19s during their UEFA Youth League campaign this term.
The 5-3 victory over Fenerbahce extended an unbeaten start to the competition, with Rob Page’s side collecting eight points from four games.
An open and eventful clash in Turkiye saw Liverpool lead 2-0 and 4-1 before Wright sealed his hat-trick in the second half and stifled the hosts’ comeback attempts.
“It was a strong performance from the lads,” he said. “We’ve still got to keep working.
“We’ve got room to improve, sometimes we were complacent – we could have avoided those goals we conceded and we made the game harder for ourselves.
“But super-happy with it. We’ve just got to keep pushing.”
Wright, who opened the scoring in the third minute and made it two on 14, continued: “Sometimes when you get an early lead, you do tend to relax.
“But that’s the message that we have to keep saying to each other throughout the team: that we can’t become relaxed in those games, we’ve got to be ruthless.
“It’s one of Rob’s biggest things, being ruthless throughout the game, not only at the top of the pitch but at the back as well.
“I think that’s just what we’ve got to keep telling each other, keep pushing each other and hopefully the results keep coming as they are.”
