Barry Lewtas took over as Liverpool FC U21s (then U23s) head coach in May 2020, a role which had been vacated by Neil Critchley's departure to Blackpool.

Barry joined Liverpool in 2013 after working previously at Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.

He arrived at Wigan in 2003 to work in their Centre of Excellence, where he coached players aged 10-13. He then moved to Bolton in 2007 to work at their academy, working with boys aged 11-14 for six seasons.

In 2013, Barry made the move to Liverpool to take the U12 group at the Kirkby Academy, and he then progressed to head up the U16s. Lewtas was promoted to take charge of the U18s in July 2018, filling the role that had been held by Steven Gerrard.
