It’s a footballing combination that sadly can only be seen in Liverpool fans’ imaginations: Steven Gerrard and Mohamed Salah.

The pair of Reds icons are each in the top six on the club’s all-time leading goalscorers list, with 186 strikes for Gerrard and 245 – and counting – for Mohamed Salah.

Gerrard’s legendary 17-year spell in the senior team at Anfield concluded two summers before Salah arrived on Merseyside from AS Roma in 2017 and commenced his own talismanic time in the shirt.

In a light-hearted new Q&A with TNT Sports, which can be read in full below, Gerrard revealed Salah is the player he would have most liked to take to the pitch with.
