NewsRachael Laws signs new Liverpool FC Women contract
Goalkeeper Rachael Laws has signed a new contract with Liverpool FC Women.
The 34-year-old's second spell as a Red has been extended after she put pen to paper on the deal on Friday.
A Women's Super League winner with the club in 2013, Laws has appeared 108 times as a Liverpool player.
Offering her reaction to Liverpoolfc.com, the No.1 said: "Over the summer it was a no-brainer when the club said they wanted to keep me here.
"This is my home – I've got a house here – and it was a no-brainer. When they said they wanted to keep me I was like, 'Where do I sign?' I'm looking forward to the next year or so.
"The fans have been fantastic for me from day one and not just [now] but my first spell as well they welcomed me with open arms. I like to repay them in the best way I can – whether that is by good performances or wins.
"The fans have been a pivotal part of my time here and long may that continue."
Laws was on loan from Sunderland when the top-flight crown was won in 2013 and then rejoined on a permanent basis in the summer of 2020.
She earned the FA Women's Championship Golden Glove award in 2021-22, with her 13 clean sheets helping the Reds clinch first place and promotion back to the WSL.
Laws has been a consistent presence as the team consolidated its status in England's premier division, making 20 appearances across all competitions last season and recording four shutouts.
