NewsPre-season stadium guide: GEODIS Park, Nashville
Liverpool’s pre-season schedule of games begins with a first visit to Nashville’s GEODIS Park a fortnight today.
The Reds will face fellow Premier League side Sunderland at the recently built venue on Saturday July 25, kick-off 11pm BST (5pm local time).
The construction of the stadium, which is located in the city’s Wedgewood-Houston neighbourhood, was completed in May 2022 to the tune of $335 million.
It was built on the grounds of The Fairgrounds Nashville as part of a regeneration of a site with a rich history of sporting, cultural and community events.
With a seating capacity of 30,000, GEODIS Park is the largest stadium dedicated to football across all of the USA and Canada.
It also includes a safe standing section for supporters.
“With just 150 feet of distance between the last row of seats and the touchline, GEODIS Park offers an electric matchday experience bringing fans closer to the action than ever before,” reports geodispark.com.
The arena is the permanent home of Major League Soccer outfit Nashville SC, who hosted Philadelphia Union in the first fixture played there.
Three matches at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup took place at the stadium in the state of Tennessee, too.
LAFC, Esperance de Tunisie, Auckland City, Boca Juniors, Al Hilal and Pachuca all took to the pitch during that tournament.
GEODIS Park will be used for nine games during the 2028 Olympics football events, meanwhile.
A venue for major concerts as well, it has welcomed artists such as Shania Twain, P!NK, Green Day, and Guns N’ Roses.
