Stefan Bajcetic and Wataru Endo
Bajcetic did not play in the 2025-26 season and Endo was forced to miss this summer's World Cup with Japan. Both, however, stepped up their training programmes during Liverpool's pre-season tour of the United States.
Head coach Andoni Iraola on August 1: "Stefan is training basically fully with the team. Wataru has started training more progressively but [is] very close to being ready. I hope Wata can play probably against Monaco. He should be able to have some minutes."
Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni
The trio have been out with long-term injuries and remain sidelined.
Bradley underwent surgery on a significant knee injury he suffered away at Arsenal in January.
Ekitike ruptured his Achilles tendon back in April and Leoni is recovering from the anterior cruciate ligament tear he sustained during his debut early on in the 2025-26 campaign.
Iraola on July 21: "In terms of order, I think the closest one to returning is Leoni. After will be Conor and Hugo. But especially the last two are still way off, we are talking about months and still a lot of time out."
Jeremie Frimpong
The No.30 was substituted during the second half of the friendly with Leeds United in Chicago.
Iraola on August 2: "Jeremie asked for the sub [but] I don't think it's an injury. It was just some overload and I hope he's not injured in that way. I don't think we've lost anyone."
Joe Gomez
The defender is facing a spell on the sidelines after being forced off against Sunderland in Nashville.
Iraola on July 30: "Joe has a muscle injury. I think it was quite clear since he complained straight away, so it will depend how he evolves, but he will be some weeks off. It's a muscle injury and [with] muscle injuries it is difficult to say one day, but normally I always put myself as one month.
"If it goes very good the injury is a little bit less, if [not] it goes a little more. It's not massive, it's a normal muscle injury, [but] I think it's going to be impossible to have him for the start of the season because we are not so far [away]. It shouldn't be a lot more."
Jeremy Jacquet
The 21-year-old is yet to appear in pre-season after reporting 'discomfort' in training.
Iraola on August 1: "With Jeremy we still don't know if it's worth it or not to put him in against Leeds. He did the first part of the pre-season, let's say, very well. Now he's feeling some discomfort, so we don't want to rush him.
"He comes from a lot of months without playing. And obviously I would like to try with him with Virgil [van Dijk] when he recovers, because with the injury of Joe we've been without senior centre-backs. But we have to be careful with Jeremy, yes."
- Availability
Alisson Becker, Alexis Mac Allister and Victor Munoz
The trio will soon report to the AXA Training Centre to begin pre-season training following the World Cup.
Iraola on August 1: "[Munoz] comes next week. We spoke to him and he wanted also to come a little bit earlier than the three weeks that they have the right to have, because obviously he is coming to a new club, he will need some time to adapt, to meet his teammates. We will have him next week as soon as we arrive there, basically. It's good news.
"Alisson will be there from the first day. He was arriving to AXA a little bit later than Cody [Gakpo] and Virgil. But he will be [there] since the first day that we arrive and will start training there in Liverpool.
"And Alexis will have, I think, until the Monaco game. I think deserved holidays for him; long season, long World Cup, played until the final, has played a lot of minutes. I hope he comes fully recovered and he enjoys also the break that he definitely has earned."
