NewsLFC U13s beaten in semi-finals at Virgil's Legacy Trophy as Van Dijk attends final day
Liverpool's U13s were beaten in the semi-finals of the Virgil's Legacy Trophy tournament in the Netherlands on Sunday.
The Reds' defence of the title they lifted in the inaugural edition in 2025 came to a close at the penultimate stage.
The previous day, Liverpool had topped Group B to progress as they were watched by Steven Gerrard.
Michael Yates' team were beaten 1-0 by FC Barcelona in Tilburg in their semi-final.
Bayern Munich - who progressed past Juventus in the other last-four tie - then ran out 3-1 winners in the showpiece.
Virgil van Dijk was also in attendance in his home country to meet participants and present the trophy.
Virgil's Legacy Trophy was founded by the senior Reds captain and aims to "empower the next generation" through "bridging the gap between youth academy dreams and the reality of the professional game".
