Respects were paid at the Adobe Women's FA Cup quarter-final between Liverpool and Charlton Athletic, to mark the 37th anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy.

Ninety-seven supporters lost their lives as a result of the disaster that unfolded when the Reds faced Nottingham Forest on April 15, 1989.

Today’s match at The Valley was the women’s team's closest fixture ahead of this year's anniversary.

Tributes took place in the form of a period of silence ahead of kick-off, while both sets of players wore black armbands.
