NewsDominik Szoboszlai wins second LFC Player of the Month award of the season
Dominik Szoboszlai was voted Liverpool's Standard Chartered Men's Player of the Month for October.
The Hungary international collected the award for the second time this season, having also been chosen by fans in August.
Szoboszlai started four of the Reds' five games in the month and produced one goal and two assist during a difficult run for Arne Slot's side.
"Thank you. I'm obviously trying to give my best all the time and thanks for the fans who voted for me. I'm just trying to keep going and hopefully I can do my best all the time," he told Liverpoolfc.com upon receiving the trophy at the AXA Training Centre.
"I'm very happy that I'm in, probably, the best form in my career. But the hardest part is to keep going and to keep this level, but I will work on it every day and hopefully winning even more awards."
On the team's struggles in October, and signs of recovery so far in November, Szoboszlai said: "It was a hard month.
"From six games we had lost four at one point but I don't think we mainly focused on [Eintracht] Frankfurt because we just thought that the Premier League is the one thing we have to fix and that is what we have done against Aston Villa as well. Now in the Champions League as well but Sunday is a big game again."
Having recorded back-to-back home wins over Villa and Real Madrid, Liverpool's next assignment is a trip to face Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend.
The No.8 added: "It's never easy to play away at City. We know how good they are, how much quality they have in their team.
"So we have to focus on ourselves, think and work about how we would like to do our stuff and we are going to have our chances, for sure. We have to [take] them and as we did in the last two or three games we have to work hard, each of us."
