ReactionAndy Robertson: We're massively disappointed - we put everything into the game
Andy Robertson was proud of Liverpool's efforts against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night but left massively disappointed at the end result.
The Reds' journey in the Champions League this season concluded at the last-16 stage after a 4-1 defeat on penalties in the Anfield second leg.
PSG's Ousmane Dembele made it 1-1 in the tie with his early goal and the quarter-final place had to be settled via a shootout at the end of 120 minutes of high-quality action.

On elimination...
That's the competition. Obviously we got the win last week without playing our best. I think we played so much better today. That's football, you end up being on the wrong end of the result. But you can't question the effort, the endeavour, everything that we put into the game. It was just two really good teams going at it and when it goes to penalties, it's always a lottery and unfortunately for us we're on the wrong side of it. I can't be prouder of the players, how much effort we put in, and it's just unfortunate that the efforts weren't rewarded.
On enjoying dominance in the second half but not being able to find a goal...
I think last week a lot was said about them not taking their chances. I think we never took our chances. [In the] second half we kept pushing and pushing and pushing, and unfortunately we couldn't quite get back on level terms on the night, which would have got us through. We've got a lot to look back on but I think there'll be a lot of positives from this game. Obviously it's a massive disappointment not going through.
On whether Liverpool will view it as a 'missed opportunity'...
I think for finishing top of the group, we got the toughest tie of the whole Champions League. PSG are a fantastic team, got threats all over the pitch and if they play to that level then they should go far in the competition. We obviously got a really tough tie and we believed that we could get through. At times we showed we could. If luck was on our side a little bit more then maybe we're the ones celebrating. But it wasn't meant to be and we need to dust ourselves down. We've got a cup final [on] Sunday and then we've got a push for the Premier League to come after the internationals.
On what he expects to be the response on Sunday...
We always bounce back. There's a lot of tired legs in there and we need to recover properly, we need to get ready to go – but we will be. Cup finals, we enjoy them and they're the biggest games. Once we get that one out of the way then we've had a real intense period of time, we get a little bit of a break [with] the internationals and then we go full throttle for the Premier League.
