Andy Lonergan has joined Liverpool FC Women as the club's new goalkeeping coach.

Lonergan brings a wealth of playing and leadership experience to the position, having made more than 400 career appearances at clubs including Preston North End, Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United.

He also had a spell with the Reds' men's team as part of their 2019-20 Premier League-winning squad and picked up medals in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

The 41-year-old then went on to spend three years at Everton, gaining further knowledge within a top-flight environment.
