This will be the 199th meeting of the clubs in all competitions. Liverpool have won 95, while City have come away victorious on 52 occasions.

In the Premier League, the Reds have won 23 of 56 meetings, with 21 draws and 12 defeats. Away from home they have won five, with 10 defeats and 13 draws.

City lost both Premier League meetings with Liverpool last season, as many defeats as they had suffered in their previous 12 against them (won four, drawn six).

Liverpool won this fixture 2-0 last season and are aiming to win consecutive away league games against City for the first time since a run of three between 1987 and 1991.

City have won 10 of their last 12 Premier League games against reigning champions (drawn one, lost one), most recently a 4-1 victory against Liverpool at Anfield in February 2021.

Since the start of April, Guardiola's team have won the most points in the Premier League (42), winning 13 of 19 games (drawn three, lost three). They have won nine of their 10 fixtures at the Etihad in that time (lost one).

The Reds have lost their last three away from home in the Premier League; they have not been beaten in four on the bounce on their travels since April 2012.

City are the only team yet to score a Premier League goal via a set-piece this season. All 20 of their goals have come from open play and they are the first side in Premier League history to score as many as 20 goals in their first 10 games of a season without any of them being from a set-piece.

City lost both meetings with Liverpool 2-0 last season - only against Manchester United in 2020 has Guardiola seen one of his sides go three games versus an opponent without a goal in all competitions.

Erling Haaland has netted 98 goals in 107 Premier League appearances. He can become the fastest player to 100 goals in Premier League history, with Alan Shearer the current quickest to 100 (in 124 games).

Mohamed Salah moved level with Wayne Rooney at Manchester United (183 goals, 93 assists) for goals and assists combined for a single Premier League club with his goal for Liverpool against Aston Villa (188 goals, 88 assists).

Salah has nine goals and six assists versus City in the competition - the most goal involvements against them in Premier League history.

The Egyptian has either scored (nine) or assisted (six) 15 of the Reds' last 20 Premier League goals against City.

Since joining Liverpool, he only has more goal contributions in all competitions against Manchester United (22) than he does against Manchester City (21 - 13 goals, eight assists). He has either scored (four) or assisted (three) on each of his last six visits to Etihad Stadium.

This will be the sixth time in the Guardiola era that the teams have met in the Premier League immediately before an international break, with City failing to win any of the five such meetings so far (drawn four, lost one).

Across his entire managerial career, against no side has Guardiola suffered more defeats than against Liverpool (10 - level with Tottenham Hotspur), while only against Real Madrid (39) has he seen his sides concede more goals than against the Reds (38).

Slot's men have failed to score in only one of their last 52 league games - the 1-0 home defeat by Nottingham Forest in September 2024.

Only Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai have played every minute of Liverpool's league campaign this season.

Alexis Mac Allister last scored in successive Liverpool games in March 2024, against Sparta Prague and Manchester City.

Not since Andy Carroll in April 2011 has a Reds player scored more than once in a league game against City. The last man to do so away from home was Fernando Torres in a 3-2 league victory in October 2008.
